Funeral services were held Wednesday for Doyle Richard Bird 27 Vernal at the Naples LDS Ward Chapel after a cable accident at Continental OS Chaplin Well No 2 sixty miles south of Vernal. He died when frost covered pipe slipped and crushed his head. He served in the U S Army and married Geraldine Karten in 1948. He leaves a widow and large family. burial was at Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.
