Vernal Soldiers Take Part in Berlin Winterfield Exercise
Two Vernal servicemen, Pe Georges Ro Alexander and Derrell Perry, gunners in Company F of the 928 Fire Mile regiment, participated in the Winterfield exercise in Grunewall Forest within the American and British sectors of Berlin. The unit trained in Fort Ord California before joining the exercise.

Brent Morrill of Tridel Utah served with Service Company 12th Regiment of the 4th Infantry Division in Frankfurt Germany. He has been overseas since last September and recently participated in field training with the Ivy division of the Seventh Army. A 1952 Union High School graduate, he entered the Army in December 1964 and trained at Fort Campbell Kentucky.

Soldier Slated for Alaska Unit Duty
Pvt Blaine L Murray, 22, of Jensen Utah, wife Emma Lou and parents Mr and Mrs Aric J Murray, has been assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division at Fort Lewis Washington. The Indianhead division is to move to Alaska in July-August as part of Operation Gyroscope the Army rotation plan. Murray, a construction specialist in 2nd Battalion Headquarters of the division's 11th Regiment, joined last December and trained at Fort Carson.

Dareis J Chivers son of Mr and Mrs Marvin Chivers Route 2 Vernal Utah is member of the 7833rd Army Unit in France Communications Zone. The unit man major US supply installations and depots in France and moves men and supplies from French ports to American forces. Pfe Chivers, a stock record clerk in the unit’s Maintenance Company, joined the Army in December 1954 and trained at Fort Ord Cast He was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground MA before arriving in Europe in 1955. He attended Uintah Flatty school.
