Scouts Net Awards At Court of Honor Uintah District February 24
Vernal Troop 230 led the February Court of Honor with a strong showing of awards and badges. Bonanza Troop 243 and Kiwanis Troop 237 followed, while Tyrrell Seager earned the top Star Scout badge. PFC Melvin Rowley Spends Month Here in Vernal
PFC Melvin Rowley of the Air Force, three years service, has spent a month in Vernal with his grandmother Mrs Margaret Casty. He left in March to report back to base and will spend 12 months in Korea. Rowley, son of Emmett Rowley, attended Uintah High until his sophomore year and enlisted afterward. Basic training in California, then 18 months in Japan, with the last eight months at Yuma, Arizona.
