Lions Club Minstrel Wows UHS Audiences in Two Shows
The Uintah High School auditorium hosted two Lions Club Minstrel performances titled the Scream of the Year. Under Frank R. Walker's direction, with endmen and a full cast including Chellus Caldwell Max G Abbott Tom Gresset and Lawrence Lee, the show featured songs, comedy bits, and a banjo. Scripted by Dr. Ray E Spendlove, it highlighted punchlines such as Gold Diggers and Two Face, led by Chac es of the show and a spirited gales of performers. Marilyn Motte accompanied, with Lawrence Lee in charge of music and behind the scenes support from Mrs Ray E Spendlove.

Uintah County Heart Fund Drive Raises $1000
More than $1,000 was raised in Uintah County Heart Drive by the Current Topics Club with help from schools churches rustic hearts and Heart Fund. Twenty five club members organized the day drive and an all sports show at Winthrop High School. Isla King chaired, with Thelma Wright Margie Sowards Edytha Johnson Carolyn Bauey Martin and Merle Siddoway directing efforts.

Moyle to Preside at Uintah Stake Conference Weekend
Visiting authorities Henry D. Moyle of the Council of Twelve and Leonard Love of the general Welfare Committee will preside at the Uintah Stake quarterly conference cession this weekend. A welfare meeting is set for 6 30 p m Saturday at the Uintah Stake Center with Melchizedek Priesthood and general sessions Sunday at 10 a m 2 p m and an evening program at 8 p m. The Boy Scouts of the Stake will direct the program.

Red Cross Drive Leaders Named for Uintah County
County drive chairmen Chris McKinlay and Oryell Hullinger were named to lead Uintah County Red Cross fund efforts. Proclamations and urging from Mayor Ralph Siddoway call citizens to join the American Red Cross drive and to volunteer. Lee Adamson chairs the Uintah County Red Cross Chapter with Calvin Johnson as services chairman and Lucille Johnson as secretary. other officers include Kell Anderson, Mary Fulmore, Ray Nash, Don Hullinger, Ashel Evang, and assistant stewards in safety and first aid. The Red Cross aids troops, families, veterans, disaster victims with food, clothing, shelter, medical care, and long-term aid. Utah Red Cross activity last year included 17,420 pints of blood, 8,000 pints for civilians in 29 Utah hospitals across 22 counties. 10,456 residents trained in first aid. 0,015 in water safety. 2,567 in home nursing. Temperatures show light snow and a thaw bringing above zero readings.

The Ashley Valley Water District organized to coordinate a valley wide culinary water system for Ashley Davis Glines Naples Jensen. A five hundred fifty families pledge six dollars each for a preliminary survey. The group plans a mass meeting and will hire a Velgil engineer for the survey. Citizens urge plantings in High Uinta lakes and oppose a five fish limit proposal. They propose stocking by plane with fish from the Colorado scheme and seek state support.

Ray Jacope the daughter of Mr and Mrs William A Haesbe will compete for the title of Miss Utah National Guard. Miss Utah National Guard will then vie in the Miss Utah contest leading to Miss America.
