Witbeck Post No 11 American Legion Auxiliary reports 632 Uintah County service men addressed and Christmas greetings sent to 475. From December 7 1941 to 1942 they logged 2550 hours knitting cutting sewing 1875 hours for Red Cross. They sold war bonds and stamps at Ashton Bros each Saturday and shipped 1500 phonograph records. The group supported 130 comfort kits and 62 ward equipment items and donated to the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis.

Vernal Mayor Proposes Hot Lunch Fund via Liquor Tax
Vernal Mayor BH Stringham introduced a bill to set aside about 2.725 million dollars from Utah’s state liquor fund for school lunches.
