Fluorides in water proven safe for decades
Fluorides in water reduce cavities by forming fluorapatite in enamel, acting pre and post eruption. Topical fluoride creates calcium fluoride and fluorapatite, increasing acid resistance. National studies show cavity reductions around 60 to 65 percent. Utah data confirm notable declines. Authorities state fluoridation is safe with no cancer or health risks.
