Record Non-Stop Flight Oakland to Vernal Hits Under Ten Hours
A Stinson type plane piloted by Bert Hassell of Rockford and P B D Cramer of Washington landed near Vernal after a ten hour coast to Vernal flight from Oakland California. The crew planned to move on to Rock Springs Wyoming by morning and then to Rockford Illinois. Former Vernal truck driver found dead near Rangely
McR Clark formerly of Vernal and resident of Rangely was found dead Sunday in a dry wash near Douglas Creek. A steel jacket bullet pierced his body just below the heart, the gun lay beside him. He had been missing since Saturday after going hunting with two companions. He leaves a wife and three children. He worked for Midwest Exploration about four years, moved from Hes home to Vernal then Rangely. Coroner and undertaker from Rio Blanco county presided. Parents in Farmington New Mexico were summoned.
