Boy Scouts May Earn Outing at Camp Timpanogos

Tragic Runaway Horse Kills 12 Year Old in Vernal
Wilbur Carpenter, 12, son of Mr and Mrs Charles F Carpenter, died after a runaway horse dragged him into barbed wire. The incident occurred Tuesday morning near Maples when the bridle broke and the horse bolted. He later died from blood loss at Vernal Hospital. Funeral held in Vernal First Ward chapel with Bishop James St Walia presiding.

Pall bearers from deacon quorum in burial procession
Pall bearers chosen from the deacon quorum of which Wilbur was a member. His Sunday school class of about 32 members passed around the casket placing a bunch of red races on the coffin. Flowers were profuse and beautiful. A large cortege followed the remains to the final resting place.
