Tributes in the spring Pharmic Ute honor Glenn E Cooper owner of Vernal Drug Company. He trained at University of Colorado and later served in the US Navy before returning to Vernal. A three year old Maeser girl was found unharmed after an 18 hour search by 500 volunteers and police following her disappearance near Vernal.

Utah Press Association members and spouses canoed down Green River from Pat’s Hole to Split Mountain during a one day trip. They praised the scenery aboard a Wan Watts Vernal visit featured with tours of the Utah Field House of Natural History. The expedition, publicized in weekly papers, involved 23 officials and was led by Tinteli River Expeditions from Roosevelt to Vernal areas.
