City officials discussed vandalism at the park and a plan to study poison capsule placement for dogs. They ordered enforcement of ordinances, investigated dog poisonings, and tightened water rent collections while auditing a Uintah County tax bill.
A large Jensen crowd gathered Thursday at 10 am for the funeral of Mrs Peter A Case who died Monday after a major operation. Prayer, music, and remarks by local clergy and friends accompanied the services. Interment was in Jensen cemetery with six sons as pallbearers and numerous relatives present from Vernal, Vernal area, and distant places.
Arthur GC Rich known as Clyde, former Vernalite author of Jackie, returns to Vernal after years away to visit his grandparents. He has worked in import export, served four years with Alhambra California police, and is program manager for the Pacific Coast Protective Order of Police publicity department. He hosts a radio program from KFOXK Long Beach reading his verse and has published poems including Jackie The Son of a Hard Boiled Cop and a safety driving poem. The Pacific Coast Police Order has named him Poet Laureate.
Women of New Zealand have voted for twenty five years and from go to bo percent of them turn out to cast their ballots.
Irene Clayton Larson 24 wife of Clark A C Larson principal of Leota public school died at home Tuesday from childbirth complications. Born May 29 1909 in Provo she attended Provo High then BYU. She married May 23 1923 in Salt Lake City and lived in Minersville Randf ord before Provo. Funeral today at 1 pm in Provo Third Ward chapel.
The most northerly light maintained by the United States Lighthouse Service at Point Hope Light stands 107 miles north of the Arctic Circle, guiding navigation along this remote coast.
A gardener recovering a plain gold wedding band after three decades traced it to Ernest Eaton of Vernal. Mrs Eaton recalled losing the ring while straw cleanup in bed ticks, and her search ended with the ring's return to the Eaton couple, who were delighted.

J A Cheney cashier of Utah State Bank was elected second vice president of the Utah State Bankers Association at its Ogden convention. Heminggway of Ogden was elected president. Charles L Smith named Lake City president.
The state board of agriculture trims inspectors due to budget, retaining G H Southam of Vernal for Uintah County and keeping Thomas Redmond as chief inspector. About a dozen inspectors will remain at strategic points to monitor sheep movement, with work mainly December to March and field time increased for one or two assistants. Utah aims to maintain a near 44a free status as sheep move across borders. Redmond plans visits to Wyoming corrals as part of the program.

He learned to ride break wild horses and work as a logger and farmer while his family moved through Glenwood Grass Valley and Provo. He married Elisabeth Abplanalp in 1891 and served a two year mission to England after which he became a respected speaker and community figure in Mormon settlement history.
