Car overturns near Jensen on Sunday afternoon
Marvin Peterson driving a Ford sedan lost control on the highway west of the Hotel Escalante. He, his wife, and small daughter escaped unharmed. Price Band Wins National Contest At Evanston Ill
Carbon County high school band won first place in the national marching and parade contest at Evanston Illinois. The band also placed second in the national concert contest in class A, with six soloists and multiple ensemble awards. Judges praised the unit as one of the finest ever seen in a national event.

Martha Matilda Case, wife of Peter A Case and mother of ten World War veterans from Jensen, died Monday morning June 12 1933 at Ashley Valley Hospital Vernal after a major operation. Born October 25 1871 in Salem Utah she lived in Jensen most of her life active in ward funerals Primary and Relief Society. Survived by husband ten children nine living two sisters one brother and many grandchildren. Funeral held at Jensen ward chapel with Swin Funeral Home directing, burial in Jensen Cemetery.

Funeral Services Held at Roosevelt Tuesday for George Thomas Taylor
Funeral services for George Thomas Taylor were held Tuesday at the Roosevelt chapel with Bishop Ray Dillman presiding. The service noted Taylor’s long illness and varied career in Utah mining and ranching, with speakers praising his character and dedication. He was born July 14, 1862, in Orangeville, Morgan County, and is survived by his wife, two daughters, two sons, and eleven grandchildren attending.
