Funeral Services Held Today for Sarah Hunting 82
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Adell Pope Hunting 82 a Vernal Valley pioneer were held today at the Vernal Third Ward Chapel. She died Monday at her daughter Edith Alfreds home Vernal of a heart ailment. Born February 19 1872 in Randolph Bi County she moved to Vernal at age 12. Her father chased the first city not sold in Vernal. She married Nathan C Hunting October 3 1886 and lived in Riverdale Ward where she served as secretary of the Sunday School YWCA and was present at many community events.

James B. Johnson 47 of Rock Springs Wyoming was approved by the board to serve as superintendent of Irish School District replacing Harold M Lun dell. Johnson will assume July 1 after Lundell resigns May 11 while Johnson has 14 years in education and seven as superintendent. Johnson is a University of Wyoming graduate with a Masters in 1941 and has three children ages 15 13 and 7.

June Conference Draws Vernal Workers to Salt Lake City
A large Vernal Mutant Improvement Association group attended the June Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in Salt Lake City for a week of instruction and to learn next year’s activities. Uintah Stoke singers performed in the All Church Youth Chorus at the Tabernacle on Temple Square. The choir, directed by Crawford Gates with assistance from Sar dome Evans, presented music by Clawson Cannon. Elvis Boverty and Larrmnitiee Bowman contributed additional pieces. The event was broadcast on KSL and the Church of the Latter day Saints network with George Q Morris broadcasting the program.

The Utah Nevada Hotel Association will hold its regular business meeting in Vernal this Sunday with activities starting Saturday. A.
