Funeral Held for Wallace Calder in Vernal
Services for Attorney Wallace Calder were held at the Vernal First Ward chapel with the High Priests quorum and Boy Scouts forming an escort. Tributes from C S Johnson and others recalled Calder’s life, born March 1 1882 in Mill Creek. Interment followed at Vernal Memorial Park as pallbearers and singers participated.

County Hospital Bids Opened Tuesday at Vernal
Uintah county to open bids Tuesday at 7 30 pm for construction of a new 400000 county hospital. Hugh W Colton chairs the building committee announces bids will be considered at Uintah State Bank building. Project plans call for a 50 bed facility funded by county subscriptions and state federal allocations totaling about 430000.

Dunn Family Holiday Visit and Picnic Tour

Dedication of Jaycee Park Postponed to June 12
The dedication ceremony for Jaycee Park west of town has been postponed from June 5 due to lighting issues. Kenneth Sowards, Vernal Junior Chamber of Commerce president, announced the event for Saturday, June 12 at 7 p.m. The project totals about 34,000 dollars spent on the field with 11,000 for the park and 600 more for new bleachers and lights. The land was bought by the club for 7,000 dollars and used by Uintah School District as a recreational center.
