Texas Well Spuds In Sunday With New Rig At Rangely Oil Field
The Texas Rangely Company moved a new rotary rig to a site 1090 feet south and 1000 feet west of its former Rangely location. The rig is the third erected by the company after two others were destroyed by fire and gas. Drilling progressed slowly due to a hard formation and a crevice, with depth reached around 1860 feet. The company aims to resume drilling without changing equipment as mudding continues to control gas.
