Uintah Basin Industrial Convention Opens August 4 at Duchesne
The fourth annual Uintah Basin Industrial Convention will run August 4 to 6 at Fort Duchesne. Attendance last year reached about 20 000 for the three days with visitors from Utah and neighboring states. The program includes morning bugle calls, parades, classes taught by Utah institutions, and a baseball game daily. Notable speakers include Governor George H Dern and Dr George Otis Smith of the U.S. Geological Survey with sessions on irrigation economics and rural communities. The event emphasizes education, culture, and community melding beyond rodeos or racing events.
