Utahns Order 80,000 Cars Get 1600 in Year
Utah Automobile Dealers Assn disclosed that Utahns have ordered about 80 000 cars while only 1600 to 1700 new cars have been registered in the state since production resumed late in 1945. Secretary manager Elian J Strong cited bottlenecks in suppliers, notably springs for seat cushions, and said some dealers now estimate 15 to 38 months delivery. He added that coal strike and pig iron shortages contribute to slow car production, with some dealers taking orders but few deposits.
