Utah Oil Take Surpasses Two Million Barrels in 1955
Utah's 1955 oil production reached 2,144,477 barrels, a state record surpassing 1954 and 1953 levels. Daily output averaged 5,077 barrels, with November dipping to 135,144 barrels due to Salt Lake Pipeline’s 30 mile hookup. Red Wash and Ashley Valley fields led production in Uintah County as new fields and development wells boosted totals. 1956 outlook calls for 2.5 to 3 million barrels if exploration and discoveries in Paradox Basin continue.
