A Parenthood in a Nation adult course by Uintah School District aims to help parents with a six to ten week program free for participants, with printed materials for a small fee. Advanced course for ages five to nine starts January 23 at Central School with limited registration and no charge. courses funded by University of Chicago Parents Education Project and Utah State Department of Education.

Lawsuits Against Ute Tribe Dismissed In Utah
Two lawsuits seeking 821000 for injuries to two Duchesne youths in a 1954 explosion were dismissed in Ft Duchesne. The actions, filed by Vernon Robbins’ father W L Robbins and Preston Robbins, were against the United States and Ute Indian Tribe of Uintah Ouray Reservation and were dismissed with prejudice on stipulation of counsel.

Moon Lake Electric Gets 4.256 Million Loan for Red Wash Field
Moon Lake Electric Association, based in Vernal, secures a Rural Electrification Administration loan of 4,256,000 dollars to expand transmission lines and build a four unit 3,000 kilowatt diesel plant at Rangely. The project will add capacity for 2,800 consumers across Uintah and surrounding counties in Utah and Colorado.

Auto Smacks Telephone Pole In $600 Damage Crash
A 1956 Chevrolet front end was smashed when the driver braked to avoid another car and struck a telephone pole at the Bingham corner. Ronald Horrocks of Lapoint was eastbound on Macset road. Louis Zullo backed from Carl Richens driveway. Horrocks skidded on a frozen ditch surface and was cited for improper backing by Officer Powell. The incident occurred Monday morning.

Basin T V Completes 600th Connection in Valley Area
Basin Television completed its line to the Leon P Cltisten een home in Moeser as the valley’s 600th connection. Three thousand valley residents now view national TV via Basin in Vernal. The system will extend as demand requires, with four trailer courts offering rental service and the Fall View court to be connected. Oil Gas Gathering System Nears Completion at Red Wash Field
A $1 million oil and gas gathering system at the Red Wash field operated by Standard Oil Company of California Western Operations nears completion. Gas will be gathered and reinjected to conserve resources and boost ultimate recovery. A compression plant under construction will pressurize gas for reinjection, with operation expected by May. No commercial gas plans. reinjection only. The Salt Lake pipeline serves as outlet, and development wells continue with one rig. The project includes an added office wing, no staff increase planned.
