Coughlin and Company of Denver won the $400000 Uintah County building bonds with a remarkably low net interest rate of 2.871847 percent. Other bids ranged up to 3.9333 percent. A letter from acting Reclamation Commissioner Floyd E Dominy said a reasonable 18 month construction program for Flaming Gorge Dam is planned with powering dates late 1984 or early 1985 and that diversion tunnel work must proceed before dam work.

Halliburton Co unveils one of Vernal’s largest buildings east of the city. The 124 by 50 foot facility houses two offices a washroom a radio room and a dispatcher area with two offices upstairs and a conference room. Thirty workers and a team of eleven from Duncan Oklahoma completed the project which serves Rangely Meeker Craig Grand Junction and broader Utah Nevada Idaho Colorado areas. Stove Fire Routs Roof At Manwaring Home
An overheated stove likely from a faulty flue ignited the roof at Thelma and Leona Manwaring’s Naples home Saturday night. The blaze ripped away the roof but all contents were saved as neighbors, relatives, and dozens of cars aided in removing belongings. The sisters plan to rebuild with help from family and local residents while temporarily staying with nieces Estela and Grace Manwaring.
