EPA and Colorado Clash Over Utah Air Reclassification Plan
EPA and Colorado oppose Utah air quality redesignation plans with hearings set nationwide including Vernal and Salt Lake City. Proposals would grant Class 1 protection to national parks, move large county areas to Class 1 or 2, while others stay Class 2, with possible Class 3 in some zones near Colorado. Colorado warns of Category 3 expansions along the border, cites EPA guidelines requiring neighbor input, and states it will respond formally to participate.
