Four decades ago a new mercantile concern named Ashton Tally Company Inc is to be formed in Vernal with W S Ashton and Benj P Kelly as managers. Corporators include W S Ashton B P Kelly Chas DeMoisy Wm Siddoway and Leslie Ashton. The Uintah Duchesne county line was accurately set by Nile Hughes. Two Moffat Road auto freight trucks arrived in Vernal loaded with five tons each of gasoline and supplies.
