Forest Grazing Reductions Not Planned for '36
CODEN Feb 22 Practically no reductions will be made in 1936 for established range permits in this region under the governments ten year permit policy Assistant Regional Forester Ernest Winkler said the policy calls for general reduction to make forest land blocks available to small graziers Winkler noted no detailed instructions from Washington but believes the program aims for little change this year The reason is last years reduction gave operators time to adjust amid drought bad markets and range curtailment He said reductions are capped at 30 percent of total acreage for five years or 18 percent in any single year after 1940 adjustments possible based on circumstances
