Water to Flow to Vernal City Cemetery Hill Renovations

Water will be piped from Vernal city to the Vernal City cemetery to create a beauty spot. A 14042 WI PA cemetery project began with road work on the south side and four acres purchased for a gradual slope. A high fence and barbed wire will encircle the grounds, tombstone repairs planned, and landscaping with trees and shrubs will follow the water system, aimed for early spring completion.

Uintah High School presents its annual play Outward Bound at the auditorium Thursday Friday and Saturday with curtain at 625 sharp. UBIC Slogan Chosen For 1936 Uintah Basin Meet

LeRoy C Funk of Roosevelt won the UBIC slogan prize from a large field for the fourteenth annual Uintah Basin Industrial Convention to be held in Fort Duchesne August 12 to 14. The slogan Inventory and Evaluate Our Resources Replan and Develop the Gaajn will be the theme for high school contests and guest speakers. Robert R Burns was named acting superintendent of the Uintah Ouray Agency. Ruben D Law was chosen as committee chairman.

First Aid Course Draws Large Vernal Crowd

Over 100 Scouts and relief workers attend a three hour first aid class at Vernal Community House this week. Officer Dee, with East Lake City police, teaches alongside George W Jones of the WEA, as the course expands in Uintah County sponsored by the Uintah chapter American Red Cross and county wear nurses. The session emphasizes safety and public welfare as the largest class of its kind in Vernal forms.

Old Age Pension Ready For County On March 1

Uintah district schools served hot lunches since WPA began in 1930s with 4,9300 meals, nine schools including Naples Avalon and Fort Duchesne, under WPA lunch projects led by Mrs L A Christensen. Ashley Valley Cattle Growers Hold Annual Meeting

Ashley Valley Cattle Growers Association met in the Bank of Verbal directors' room. Seeley and Oaks were re elected president and vice president. Leland Sowards was secretary treasurer. The advisory board includes Seeley Oaks Sowards Morrison Soderquist Christensen Dodds. Forest Grazing Reductions Not Planned for '36

CODEN Feb 22 Practically no reductions will be made in 1936 for established range permits in this region under the governments ten year permit policy Assistant Regional Forester Ernest Winkler said the policy calls for general reduction to make forest land blocks available to small graziers Winkler noted no detailed instructions from Washington but believes the program aims for little change this year The reason is last years reduction gave operators time to adjust amid drought bad markets and range curtailment He said reductions are capped at 30 percent of total acreage for five years or 18 percent in any single year after 1940 adjustments possible based on circumstances

Stewart Lake project inspection by state game officials

Stewart Lake nesting and hunting ground work is being overseen by Stewart Lake W Krump chief deputy and in charge of construction for the state fish and game department. Fighting Utes Clinch Basin Championship at UHS gym

The Fighting Utes defeated Duchesne High 33 to 10 to clinch the Basin Championship in the northeastern Region Five Friday night. Woods Umitalia led Uintah with 17 points as Coach Cat Davis used reserves. Duchesne failed to top 2 points per scorer. Roosevelt beat Alterra 80 to 15 for second place. Vernal and Uintah reserves played a separate 32 to 8 preliminary win for Vernal.

Community Sanitary Project to Spend $5000
