Jorget Jones of the state safety department and WPA adult education division East Lake City ill commence a course In First aid instruction at Uintah high school commencing Monday even t he AL p . The course will be three hours each night and will held on Monday Wednesday id 'Thursday for two weeks. The course is free of charge to all who desire to take it. Nearly 100 personnel including school principals WEA workers Beouts Meller Rockety workers routers and chairmen of Med Cross om as parts of the county. After the course Dr John Clark and Dr W K Bullock will give an examination to all those who wish to take it. Those passing will be awarded a Red Cross first aid certificate They will also receive hosteh Nevada first aid certificate.

Lapoint Farmer Goes With Six Cows and Four Acres
Lapoint farmer Cox, who migrated from Idaho last spring, runs six milk cows on four acres of corn and hay land. He harvested a big corn crop stored in silos, with second cut of hay and winter feed keeping cows productive. He plans to acquire more land, expand corn, and grow his dairy herd. Vernal Council Approves WPA Sewer Extension Project
Vernal city council approved a WPA sewer extension using 3000 feet of 8 inch pipe to run along 4th South Street. Walter G Marnes will manufacture the pipe locally at a total project cost of 2440 dollars. The action follows a request from Ashton ward for water system extension and contemplates a 12 inch intake line to the current project. If granted, further plans aim to extend water to Glines ward and toward springs for a year round 100 percent pure water supply.

A nine man crew under A. Anderson foreman on an $8000 WPA project strengthens the Vernal Junior High School by tearing down the south wall. New cement foundations will be laid and rebuilt with stone and brick to match the other wall. Work began February 6 and will take over two months. crew works 16 days each month with one crew employed so far.

Funeral Rites for Pioneer Mother Lola Hall
Funeral services for Lola Hall were held in the Maser Mart chapel with mixed quartets singing and tributes by local leaders. Born in 1854 in Utah, she endured frontier hardship with her family, including the loss of her father and years of rough cabin life near Morristown. Lola grew up amid mining towns, aided by her mother, and later married Chell Wall. the procession then moved to Dry Fork cemetery for interment.

The Roosevelt Commercial Club in Vernal elected officers for 1936 led by Joseph Moysh Meads as president. New directors include F C Ferron, George St Harrison, Clarence L Ashton, M Wundberg, Homer P Edwards, and Dr Q Warnock. Local engineer R A Gillis said bids will soon be called for paving from Half Way Hollow to Ft Dutheane, with about 8000 tons of additional asphalt needed for the Roosevelt project. Yard work will begin in spring as warm weather permits, with extensive asphalt vein opened at the Vernal Plant after a slow fall.

Drilling at Lapoint school reached 40 feet then 70 feet with water within 66 feet of the top. More than 403 gallons discharged in 15 minutes. 25 feet of well remain. Roy Taylor says water is good and soft. A pump, pump jack, and later a gasoline engine will power sprinkling and landscaping to make the school attractive. water will also reach the LDS church across the street.
