Piano recitalist Irving Wasserman impressed Uintah High School audiences with a program spanning Bach Beethoven Debussy and Chopin showing strong keyboard command and expressive depth. Highlights included Bach transcriptions and Debussy Reflets dans l Eau while audience reaction built toward a thrilling finale with Flux d Artifice. The Lyceum series continues February 28 to 29 featuring the Ionian Quartet.

Harvey Natchees Wonders, a Third Armored Division reconnaissance Jeep driver, was the first American to enter Berlin after the Soviet capture and war’s end. He has heard nothing of any reward and asks for payment if anyone promised one. Natchees, now home with wife Clara and daughter Maxine, recalls earning the Air Medal, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. He says his real place is with his people after three years in service.

Bay partners Rex Hayes Tenney Johnston Wendell Pope have completed talks to buy a new two passenger Air-Coupe.
