Farewell for Missionary Victor Bingham

Pearce spent eight months in the South building a chapel in South Carolina and lecturing on the Book of Mormon in various regions. Measles Victim Mabel Richens Buried at Vernal Cemetery
Graveside services were held Wednesday for Mabel Richens two year old daughter of Vern and Mrs Richens who died Sunday from measles. The burial was directed by the Second Ward bishopric with J W Bastian in charge. The speaker was EBJ Longhurst. The dedicatory prayer was by Ernest Faton. Mrs George F Walker and Mrs J W Bastian sang Your Sweet Little Rosebud Has Left You and Shall We Meet Beyond the River. Deceased was born July 17 1932. Eleven brothers and sisters survive. two family members are ill with scarlet fever.

Father and Daughter Die Within Hours Funerals Held
Funeral services were held Friday Feb 8 at Maeser chapel for Ada M Jones who died at home early Wednesday. Bishop Laster Bingham presided. A choir sang Resting Now from Care and Sorrow. Tributes praised her generosity and love of life. In Tridell a funeral was held for Hyrum Morrill with Bishop H LeRoy Morrill presiding. The program featured Oh My Father and Beautiful Isle of Somewhere with interment in Tridel cemetery.

Bruno Richard Hauptmann was condemned to die by electric chair tonight by the jury for the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and murder. He stood between guards and heard the sentence to die in the week of March 18 with a likely appeal to the New Jersey higher court delaying execution.

Vernal Aviators Buy Cabin Plane for New Local Airport
Thomas Karren of the Lewis Motor company arranged the purchase of a new Aeronca two passenger cabin aircraft and flew it to Vernal with J R Pope. Francis Feltch joined them from Duchesne as port owners of the plane. They compared it to the older Swallow, noting its modern design and higher weight, and planned to fly extensively in mountainous regions including Green River Yampa and Craig.

George Alexander Airman Burns in Gasoline Fire
George Alexander suffered severe burns when a gasoline can exploded while he adjusted a heater. Flames scorched his face hands and legs as the blaze spread from the chicken house. He spent the night in pain but showed slight improvement Thursday morning.

Funeral Rites For Victim of Gun Accident
Funeral services were held at the Vernal Second ward chapel for Henry L. Green 70 who died from accidental discharge of a shotgun at his home Saturday morning. He was preparing to take his car to the farm in Davis and the gun discharged as he opened the car door. George Ramsey discovered the tragedy and summoned help. Investigators said the gun had likely been discharged while being placed in the car. The ward chapel overflowed with mourners and floral offerings. A double mixed quartet sang Oh My Father Whispering Hope. Continued on page five.
