At a Saturday stockholders meeting in the county courthouse the Ashley Central Irrigation company unanimously approved the Buck Pasture reservoir on Taylor Mountain in cooperation with Ashley Reservoir company. The project aims to deliver water to Ashley Valley with lower costs than Moon Lake, using canal improvements and red clay bed sections to minimize leakage.

Ed.D. Samuels Funeral Rites Held Thursday
Funeral services for former Vernal mayor Edward D Samuels were held last Thursday in the Vernal First Ward chapel. Bishop Pontha Calder presided with a double mixed quartet performing. The deceased, 63, died Monday night at his son Guy Samuels home from a heart attack. Lifelong Uintah State Bank colleagues spoke of his integrity and community impact. The body was later moved to Salt Lake City for dedicatory services at the Salt Lake Memorial Mausoleum.
