Upper Colorado storage fight fuels California energy gains
Denver Post reports that since 1938 California and Los Angeles area utilities have benefited from nearly 12 million dollars in secondary Hoover Dam energy saved by upstream water not yet developed in the upper Colorado basin. The piece argues lower California interests lobby to block upper basin storage to preserve those savings, while Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and Utah leaders seek a unified upper Colorado act.
