6000 Rainbow Trout Planted in Baldy Mountains Lakes
A shipment of 6000 rainbow trout from Whiterocks hatchery was planted in Ashley Twin Lakes and Lake Shore in Baldy Mountains by Ranger Harry Ivantassel and Wilton Hacking of Vernal. Sixty seven fish were lost in transit. An additional 20 cans of fish were shipped from Springville to Daggett County for planting in Tam Marack Fish Lakes and Beaver Creek. The Uintah County system expects about 2500 students this season with classes starting September 6 at Uintah High and a week later in all county elementary schools.
