Miss Mae Watt aged 15 of Tridel dies minutes after a honey bee sting during a warm night while sleeping outdoors near the Bartlett farm. She had planned to rejoin Uintah High School in Vernal and had lived with her foster family since moving from Montana. Great Depth of Oil in Producers & Refiners' Well
The Producers & Refiners' Corporation reports 700 feet of oil in the hole at its deep Utah well in the Clay Basin area north of Vernal, near the Colorado border. The well will reach the Dakota later after a new drilling line is received. The Frontier was tapped at 5395 feet. location is Section 6, T1N R14W, about 63 miles north of Vernal and near the Wyoming line. The project began July 19 1955.
