Moon Lake Electric Association secures a $1,750,000 loan approved by the Rural Electrification Administration to fund 68 miles of 69,000 volt transmission lines from Van Wert Ohio to Lapoint and Talmage. Project includes substations, third phase lines, two diesel generators at Rangely plant, and system upgrades in eastern Utah. Two daughters, a sister, and grandchildren survive Herbert Tyzack. Crackdown on Residents with Foreign Plates Looms
Highway Patrol Sgt. Sammy Hatch announced a near term crackdown targeting resident drivers with out of state plates and licenses. The State tax commission defines a resident as anyone who comes to Utah to work or maintain a place of abode and thus must register and obtain a Utah driver’s license. Funeral services will be held Friday in Vernal for Roland Dale Williams 17 of Vernal who died Tuesday near Pinedale Wyoming when his car left the road likely due to driver fatigue. Also injured Reid Hullinger and Wayne York remained under observation after the crash with shock and opiate treatment.

Funeral services for Mrs H Walter Gladys Woolley 52 longtime Vernal resident will be held Saturday at 2 pm in Vernal Third ward chapel under Bishop Samuel B Woolley. Wake shows she died shortly after midnight Wednesday following surgery. She was born February 15 1903 in Gladesboro Carroll County Virginia to William Calvin and Clara Belle Bowman Marshall. She married Wilford Woodruff Caldwell January 22 1921. he died May 29 1931. Four children were born, two survive. She married H Walter Woolley August 7 1937. Continued on page 8.

Stories of Amanda R. Williams devotion to faith and kindness to youth were shared at her funeral for the 83 year old Uinita Basin resident. Services at Naptea Ward chapel with Bishop DeMar Duvall presiding, burial at Vernal Tanewa Mt. Williams died Wednesday at a Vernal sister’s home. Local officials noted 10,000 feet of ditch cut south of the Green River crossing and over four miles of right of way graded for the Associated Pipe and One Contractors project. Clean-up crews in Green River area work to restore land near the river as preparation continues for pipe installation.

Special deer permits will go on sale Monday at the Courthouse in Vernal for the Daggett Clay Basin area. Five hundred permits will be issued on a first come first served basis by mail or in person per Utah Fish and Game Dept. Applicants must possess a big game license. Costs are $3.00 for residents and $5.00 for non residents. One animal must be antlerless in this five day post season hunt.
