Legion Auxiliary Meeting Plans Visit of Officers
Members of Witbeck Unit No. 11 American Legion Auxiliary met April 8 at Mrs. Rae Ashton's home with 23 members present. Special guest Mrs. David Lafferty, formerly Enid Lambert, attended as plans were made for a visit by department officers. President Eva Cookley and Secretary Francine Wilcox were among officers recognized for a buffet supper to honor visitors at 7:30 Thursday in the Legion Hall.

Mrs Manker resigns as Uintah county librarian
Mrs Manker submitted her resignation as librarian to the Uintah County Library Board. The board expressed regret and praised her long service. Her resignation takes effect when a replacement is secured and applications are being received. The library will move to the Old Central School Building with remodeling underway. Vernal City cooperates by adding street lights on South Vernal Avenue to the new location. Library board members include Mayor Briant H Stringham Ace Manwaring and others. Leper population statement notes over four million globally.
