Ronnie Lewis a 19 year old naval wrestling candidate for the Rome Olympics trials visited Vernal with his mother and grandmother at the latter home in Ashley. Lewis, a Uintah High School product, was undefeated in 1958 and state and regional champion in the 177 pound class. He trained at UCLA after Navy service and will compete in Ames Iowa for Olympic entry with a possible trip to New York City for training if he places high.
