Valley Pioneer Dies After Lingering Illness
Funeral services for Martha Ann Thompson 75 will be in Ver Sal Third ward chapel Thursday at 11 a.m. under Bishop Orion Jones. She died Friday at her daughter’s home in Laramie Wyoming after a stroke five weeks earlier. Surviving children include Martha Meeks Wyas Sam Thompson Rachel Ehlin Alice Sage George Powers and Josephine Swenson. Burial in Vernal Memorial Park.

Impressive funeral services were held at the Glines ward chapel Monday at 1 p.m. for John W. Cook 78 who died April 14 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Ralph Allred of a heart ailment. Services were under the direction of Joseph Price of the bishopric. Prelude music was by Mrs. Garrett Case. A ladies quartet consisting of Mrs. Lee Murray Mrs. Myron Perry Mrs Ort Batty and Mea Colton McKeathenle sang In The Garden. Invocation was by Elden Billings.
