Uintah fishermen will see truckloads of large trout in local streams this season. The first planting occurred April 5 with Fred Reynolds and a team from the Utah State Fish and Game ceremony guiding shipments to Ashley Creek and nearby ponds. About 1,000 fish per truck, averaging half a pound with some 2.4 to 3 pounds, were distributed. Additional loads went to Brush, Gill, Christensen, and Soderquist ponds to create havens for those with limited access. The fish committee plans abundant future plantings in higher streams and later in lower ones, aiming for improved fishing and sportsmanship.
