Uintah Basin to grow into city of twenty five thousand
Forty years ago J P May as new manager and editor of the Duchesne Record predicted a future Uintah Basin city of 25 000 inhabitants. Don B Colton extolled Basin prosperity, Peter Hanson took duties at land office, and a desert entry ruling required proof water can be obtained. Spring events include births, ice cream parlors, and plans for a new ward house in Duchesne. District shearing begins with a strong labor force, while local travel and rail concerns persist.
