Echo Park Dam to create 1000 jobs yearly over five years
Reclamation Bureau released figures on Echo Park and Glen Canyon projects. Echo Park Dam would average about 1,000 jobs annually during a five year construction, with a peak of 2,000. Funeral services for Mrs Sarah Jane Davies Corless 76 are held at the Weed Chapel. She died Monday at 2 pm at home after a heart ailment. Born June 10 1879 in Cumbrials to John J Davies, she moved to Salt Lake City at age ten and Vernal at sixteen where she wed Edward T Jones in 1897. Surviving: one son, Mrs Lila John, and two brothers Dan and Fred Davies. twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Burial at Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.

Funeral Services Held For Fall Victim Durfee
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Second Ward Chapel for Morris Durfee who died in a mining accident at the Mine when he fell 180 feet into water. Born July 1, 1910, he was the son of Edmond Frank Durfee and Nancy Ellen Martix Durfee. Survived by his widow and several children, the service included opening songs and words of consolation from church members, with burial at Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.

Four Mexican workers were signed to help with the crop this week, with more to come by next Wednesday.
