Vernal Gun and Rifle club members Henry Millecam and Byron Thomas released six pairs of Hungarian pheasants allotted to Viktak county by the game department. Imported from Austria, the birds were set loose on Ashiey creek after arrival from Watson Sunday evening. The birds, larger than quail and velvet brown, are expected to produce two egg settings annually with about 19 chicks per setting. The club plans to introduce Chinese pheasants and Sharp-tailed grouse in coming years.

Richard Harrisor Marrisen, born 3 April 1923 in Salt Lake City, moved to Provo as a boy. He married Almira Duke in January 1688 and they had ten children, seven living, two died in infancy, one son Eugene drowned last August. A bricklayer by trade, he built several Provo and Vernal structures before moving to Ash Valley in 1893 and continuing work on local homes. A paralytic stroke seven years ago limited his activity and life grew tiresome. Continued on page 8.
