Cut in Teachers Wage Made Necessary By Taking Over Senior High

At a Monday school board meeting all members attended except Wm. C. Marshall due to bad roads. Principals' schedules were standardized and the Teachers' association approved them with noted exceptions. Salaries were adjusted: Bennett from 125 to 157.50, Lapoint 160 to 162.60, Ashley 160 remains, Vernal 185 to 182.60, Jensen 136 to 130. The new plan reduces the teachers' salary scale by 5 per month for minimum and maximum 65, keeps last year’s pay for those not at max, and applies the new scale to new hires. This yields a district saving of about 2200 for the coming year, necessitated by taking over high school work and budgeting concerns.
