Telephone Advice Helps Father Deliver Twins

A Montana couple near Green River rely on telephone guidance from a hospital nurse as they welcome twins at their burned-out cabin. The father, Andrew Reynolds, used a two-room shelter while snow conditions and a missing road hampered aid. A Green River doctor, R. C. Stratton, arrived after an hour-long snowmobile trip, reporting mother and five-pound son in good shape. The tale includes a relay of radio-weasel transmissions and multiple road crews racing to reach the cabin as crews from Waggett County and Utah opened routes to the settlement. The Reynolds family had left their home earlier in the week and planned to reunite with relatives once help arrived.
