Fire destroyed the Star Drive-In theater west of Verona late Wednesday night. Firemen were called at 11:48 p.m. and battled high winds until 2:30 a.m. The 60 foot screen fell after flames rose 100 feet. Damage estimated around 1200 dollars, partly insured. Operators Deward and Alsod Shines expect six weeks before reopening. Seventeen volunteer firefighters responded. water trucks aided with about 3900 gallons pumped from nearby grasslands. Patrons received refunds as the show had been cut short.
