Services Held at Glines For George W Perry
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 00 pm at the Glines Ward chapel for George Willard Perry, deceased Thursday morning. Bishop John Bator directed the service with remarks of appreciation by Bishop Bateman. A mixed chorus sang My Father Knows, I Know That My Redeemer Lives, and Oh That My Soul. Speakers included Bishop Bateman, H Walter Woolley, and Stephen Perry. Gerald Caldwell and Mrs Caldwell contributed.

Uinton County Chapter of the American Red Cross reports a war fund drive total of 269459, exceeding the quota by 29459. Major contributions come from the business and residential districts, wards outside city lines, and miners in Duchesne area. Junior Red Cross provided 818697 of the total, and several named districts and towns including Vernal, Macser, Naples, Astley, Dayls, Triden, Lapoint contributed significant sums. Funeral Held for Veteran Gilsonite Mine Foreman
Funeral services were held for Wm Porter Price 72 a retired American Asphalt foreman who died of a heart attack at his home Monday afternoon. Born near Versailles Missouri in 1870 he moved to Versailles as a youth and worked with his father in the livery business later joining American Asphalt where he worked for twenty years before retiring last May. He is survived by widow Clara L Price three children and eight siblings. Funeral at Congregational Church Thursday at 2:00 pm with burial at Vernal Memorial Park.

Lapoint special report: John Williams Davis 62 died at his daughter's home in Lapoint Sunday of heart trouble. Born October 26 1980 in Tooele he was son of Thomas and Mary Etta Carter Davis. He lived in Vernal after marrying Annie Longsty, then moved to Lapoint to farm and run the area’s first store now Bigelow. Surviving include his widow five sons Roy and Martin Davis of Vernal Victor Davis of Hiawatha Don Davis and Charles Davis of Lapoint three daughters Mrs Merle Jenk Mrs Flora Reagan and 48 grandchildren.
