Vernal City officials and state Highway Patrol leaders met March 27 with garage operators from Vernal and nearby Tridel to outline uniform inspection standards. Trooper Dan Hatch cited replacements only for safety issues such as brakes tires and broken glass. Inspection deadline is June 1 with inspections ongoing weekly to ensure compliance for licensed drivers proper registration and plates.

Steamboat Pilot Publisher Leckenby Dies After Long Career
Charles H. Leckenby editor and publisher of The Steamboat Pilot in Steamboat Springs Colorado died Thursday March 23 at his home after a six week illness. He had been with the Pilot since 1889 serving as printer editor and publisher for over 60 years. A keen student of early Western history he authored a mail book The Ad of Pioneers.
