Nadine Noakes of Jensen Dies in Salt Lake Hospital
Nadine Noakes 14 of Jensen died at 8 15 p m Tuesday in the LDS hospital Salt Lake after a long illness from cancer. Surviving are her mother Mrs George Lewry, step father, two brothers Joe and Winnifred, four half brothers Edwin Charles Clark Prancis and two half sisters Marthe and Katherine, one sister Ray Noaks in the army at sea. Funeral services will be held at the Jensen chapel Saturday at 2 00 under Seain Funeral Home direction.

By treating asphalt with sulfur and chemicals and vulcanizing slowly, he claims a durable elastic product with about one fourth latex. Mrs Chas Davis Dies After Heart Collapse in Vernal
Mrs. Sarah Melissa Hall Davis, 66, wife of Charles Davis, died Monday at 9:40 a.m. at the family home in Vernal after a heart collapse. Born February 26, 1876 in Beaver Utah, she moved with her parents to Ashley Valley. She married Charles Davis December 21, 1902 in Vernal and they resided there. Survived by husband, two daughters Mrs George O Mansey Jr Salt Lake City and Mrs Curtis Dudley Jensen, and son Kelton Davis. Also eight brothers and sisters and eight grandchildren. Funeral services Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Vernal First Ward Chapel with Bishop Peon Calder officiating. Swann Funeral Home in charge.

Basin Federated Women Meet Here At Convention
The second district convention of Basin Federation of Women's Clubs met Saturday at the Scouthouse with Mrs. J F Chapman presiding. Registrations began at 11 30 am and various officers and club delegates heard reports. The gathering included a pledge, addresses, and a luncheon with Easter decor. Officers for next year were elected and a program of morale and war related themes featured. Over fifty club members attended.

The City Council decided to buy a lot owned by the Methodist Episcopal Church east of the Vernal First ward chapel for a new armory. W. E Blackstock said the church Board of Missions authorizes a quit claim deed for 200 dollars. A garage owners group pressed concerns about repairs at the UHS auto shop. The city will meet April 13 with the board of education. Dr. J. L Hansen objected to city water discoloration. arrangements with Utah Power and Light will remedy it. A Clean Up campaign urged for April 17 with a 1 to 5 pm closure for business and premises inspections to follow.

Plans to paint roof dome and exterior woodwork of the stake tabernacle, with work to be completed for conference. D L Bulls of the U S recruiting service reports Uintah County has 28 men enlisted in the Marines with nearly every section represented. Four are full-blood Utes and five are part-blood Utes.
