Columbus January 3 The Ohio House will draft its own relief bill for consideration when legislature reconvenes, regardless of Senate action. A conference of House members proposed a $12 million appropriation to pair with $4 million in Carey relief bonds to fund relief starting February 1. Counties would provide matching funds based on relief needs, with a $1 per $4 relief ratio beginning July 1. The plan faces objections over county ability to raise matching funds and whether distributions should be by a new bipartisan commission or the existing control board assisting emergency funds.
