In Provincetown Massachusetts seven CCC workers endured 22 hours on ice floes in Cape Cod Bay facing extreme cold hunger and fear. One planned suicide to escape torment and another suffered severe frozen feet while two more were frostbitten. Coast guard Harriet Lane brought them ashore at 3 am.
