Des Moines May 15 Three bishops were elected by the Methodist Episcopal general conference. Fred B. Fisher of Muncie Ind led with 649 votes, E L Waldorf of Cleveland 492, Charles Edward Locke of Los Angeles 42. a third ballot was pending. A new Indiana area will have a bishop stationed in Indianapolis.

Death of Highly Respected Woman in Van Buren Area
Mrs. Harmon Carter died Tuesday noon at her home five and a half miles northwest of Van Buren after a long illness caused by tuberculosis. She left a husband, five children, and was active in the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Funeral services were at Plummers Chapel and burial followed at Park Cemetery, Fairmount where the Carters once lived.

Death of Mrs Glen J Collett in Marion Indiana
The death of Mrs Glen J Collett occurred at Grant County Hospital in Marion after being struck by a streetcar near No 7 crossing south of the city. She had been Miss Ruth Garner prior to marriage and was 14 years old. Survived by her husband and two children, funeral held at Fairmount Friends Church with burial at Pury Cemetery. Her father Ed Garner was a longtime Liberty Township teacher and the family is well known locally.

Local Farm Accident Leaves Men Injured
Mr. Marvin Sneder brother of Mrs. Frank Culbertson broke his right arm while cranking a Fordson tractor on his father's farm southeast of town. He was taken to Van Buren for treatment and is reported to be recovering. Spencer Saxon is also injured with a broken right arm from a Tuesday night fall after returning from a party. he wore a sling but recalls the evening as enjoyable.
