Friends celebrate Fred Drake's consent to run for county clerk after three productive years in the post. Drake, proprietor of Drake Drug Store, leads Losure Spray Pump Mfg. Co. and is praised for able management. Republican nominating convention set for May 27.
Emily Wilkinson Schweikhardt died at her home near Dillman Wells County Indiana on March 6 1914 aged 60 years 6 months and 1 day She was born October 5 1855 near Hamilton Ohio Married to John H Schweikhardt on September 22 1878 and had eight children Survived by her husband six children two daughters Gracie Lee and Maggie M Jones eight grandchildren seven brothers and three sisters She was a noble wife and affectionate mother who suffered quietly and rests in the Lord with many relatives and friends bidding farewell with memories to keep.

Plummer Chapel school held a surprise party Saturday Feb 28 at Mr and Mrs J N Loves country home for the 40th birthday of the latter. Refreshments, music and prayer followed a talk by George Frazier and a Bible presented to the celebrant. Attendees included the Loves and many Delamore Ruble Chaney McClarnon and related families.
A Wilson Bryan League gathering in Marion on Saturday March 16 features morning committee reports, an afternoon mass meeting at Civic Hall, and a banquet. The Grant county Prohibitionists have nominated a county ticket including State Senator Monroe Wayhinger and several representatives plus county officials.
Mr Purdy will lecture at the high school building Friday evening March 20 on the Panama Canal situation. He has spent three years in Central America as chaplain of the interreligious society and will present views photographed by himself using a slide lantern. A joint revival by Methodist Protestant and Methodist Episcopal pastors at Locust Chapel Church closes after four weeks with about twenty five conversions and similar numbers added to the church. The campaign, aided by Lyon personal workers league from Marion and Tony George, will continue at Fletcher Chapel Church through the week.
Thomas Doyle aged 72 lies very low at his home on South First street for several days and is gradually growing weaker with no hopes of recovery. death may come at any time.
