Oldest Citizen Enoch Camblin Dies at 94 in Indiana

Enoch E Camblin born January 26 1826 in Pennsylvania died March 4 1920 at his Van Buren Indiana home aged 94 years 1 month 8 days. He married Sarah Ann Lugar in 1853 and had four children Mary Ellen George W Margaret and Sarah E. A pioneer who moved from Pennsylvania to Indiana with his family, he lived on several farms before settling in Van Buren. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ March 8 with the Masonic lodge conducting and interment in Van Buren cemetery.

Banquet Planned Friday for Membership Drive Winners

A township association announces a banquet at the Methodist church Friday evening March 12 to honor the recent membership drive winners. Mr Cheadle of Frankfort will speak and a hearty meal of bean soup crackers pickles pie and coffee will be served. Members are urged to attend as the association continues its growth and evaluates proposals for factories and enterprises.

At a Monday meeting the Van Buren Township Community Welfare Association decided to invite all members and their families to a banquet at the Methodist Church on Friday night March 12. Members are urged to attend with their families.

A Resident of Van Buren Passes Away

Zell Gillespie born November 14 1876 Lacota Michigan died March 6 1920 in Van Buren Indiana at age 48. He married Minnie D Deal in 1908 and left one daughter Zellepearl. Interment in Van Buren cemetery.

Mortimer born December 25 1844 in Clarion county Pennsylvania died March 7 1920 at age 7 years 3 months 12 days after living in Pennsylvania Ohio and Van Buren Indiana He married Malinda J Hawk March 9 1866 and had four children Charles Lewis predeceased him The oil field worker was known as a kind husband father and neighbor Funeral services will be held at his South Third street home Wednesday at 2 30 conducted by E O Brown.
