Coal Oil Fire Burns Woman Five Times
Mrs. Witmer Ballard was seriously burned at her home Tuesday morning when coal oil used to start a fire exploded. Her clothing caught fire but she rolled on the ground to extinguish the flames. She suffered serious burns to the left breast and side and to the right hand. A physician treated her. she is improving. Her husband Mr Ballard was away in the Texas oil field.

Bug Infestation Threatens Grant County Corn Crops

County agent Randolph warns that once bugs enter a field, saving the crop is nearly impossible. A proposed spray uses kerosene emulsion with soap and water, churned to a creamy mix then diluted for application.
