Elder Frazee Passes at Age 83 After Long Ministry

John C. Frazee born March 7 1838 died August 10 1921 aged 83 years 5 months and 3 days. He preached across Indiana Ohio Illinois Missouri Kansas Nebraska and Oklahoma and served as elder of the Van Buren Indiana Church of Christ. He married Cinconid Jacobs November 24 1861 and had seven children, four died in infancy. survivors live in Van Buren Indiana Tulsa Oklahoma and Van Buren Indiana. Funeral at Van Buren Church of Christ with interment beside his wife.

Breedlove Bros. general merchandise firm has sold to Roy Myers. Creditors seek receivership delaying possession. Myers bought the buildings and plans to run a top grocery and meat market once open. Myers has prior business in Farrville and Upland and is moving his family to Van Buren.

Death of E. C. Myers in Marion at 81

E C Myers aged 81 years 10 months 1 day died at his Marion home on Wednesday morning August 3. He formerly lived at Pleasant Plain and is survived by three children two daughters and one son two brothers John K Myers of Van Buren and A J Myers of Basil Ohio and a sister Mrs H C Hansberger of Minnesota Burial took place in Lancaster cemetery Funeral attendees included Mrs Outcalt of Basil Ohio and Harry Outcalt and wife of New Jersey.

Hardscrabble Finish With Threshed Crop Yields

The Hardscrabble Ring met at the Farr home to settle up and thresh 300 bushels of wheat 100 of rye and 11 000 of oats. The oats averaged about 26 bushels per acre and wheat about 18 with fair wheat quality and light oats. Several families were thanked with ice cream and cake. Mr Eubank did the threshing for the ring.

Thomas F Oxley died suddenly at his home in Blackford County Indiana on August 5 after returning from Farrville with his mother. He was 57, born May 8, 1864 in Delaware County. He married Amanda Chapel on February 18, 1887 and they had one son Homer. Funeral services were held in Farrville with Rev. Ernest Treber officiating.

Banter Threshing Ring Holds Big Social and Game

The Banter Threshing Ring met at C. D. Elwood’s home on August 16 for a grand final with a social meal of cake and ice cream. They threshed 15 34 bushels of wheat, 79 of barley, 176 of rye, and 14 215 of oats, then beat the East Dillman Ring 28 to 8 in a lively ball game.

Strange Birthday Surprise for Monroe Township Trustee

William T. Strange trustee of Monroe township was surprised on his fifty fifth birthday when friends and neighbors gathered Saturday evening.
